Survey Results

In June, 2006, the Launch Foundation surveyed more than 60 organizations and shelters in Ohio that offer help to victims of domestic violence.  We did so to ascertain their needs for our comprehensive training in strong decision-making skills for their clients.  Half of the organizations replied.

The survey respondents aid an average of more than 55,000 women a year and shelter more than 3,000 additional women yearly.  Shelter stays range from 7 days to 90 days with the average stay about 40 days.

Women who leave shelters overwhelmingly return home with no job… and often within reach of the abuser.

Shelters offer a great deal of support and aid.  Our survey shows that the last stop is often legal aid.  Life skill’s training appears down on the list.

And the respondents overwhelmingly agree that the unique service offered by the Launch Foundation is greatly needed by their clients.
